Every answer here is a real answer to something that actually goes wrong. If yours is not on the list, write and say what happened.

The watch will not connect

A watch is an extra, not a requirement - the app keeps score on its own. When pairing does fail, it is almost always one of these:

  • The companion app is not running. Garmin needs Garmin Connect installed and signed in; Wear OS needs the watch paired to the phone in the system settings first.
  • The watch app is not installed. The PointCop watch app has to be on the watch itself, from Connect IQ or the Play Store on the watch.
  • The watch is charging over USB. Charging turns Bluetooth off on several Garmin models.
  • Bluetooth permission was declined. On Android, allow it in the system app settings and open PointCop again.
  • On iOS, picking the watch happens inside Garmin Connect: the app sends you there and Connect sends you back.

The screen went to sleep in the middle of a match

It should not: the app keeps the screen awake while a match is on. If it slept anyway, check that your phone is not in a battery saver mode that overrides apps, and that PointCop is not restricted in the battery settings.

Somebody tapped the wrong side

Hold the half that was tapped by mistake. A long press removes the last point from that team, and the banner goes back to what it said before.

The score stopped moving

The match is over. Once match point is won, further taps are ignored on purpose, so a stray hand on the phone cannot rewrite a finished result. Start a new match to score again.

The tie-break is not starting when I expect

Check the format you chose at the start of the match. A tie-break arrives at six games all; a super tie-break replaces the deciding set, so in a best of five it arrives at two sets all, not one all.

The app is in the wrong language

PointCop follows your phone's language and falls back to English when it does not have yours. You can also pick one by hand in Settings, and that choice wins from then on.

I lost the match I was playing

The match in progress is saved on the device, so reopening the app should bring it back. It is not saved anywhere else: a match does not survive uninstalling the app or clearing its storage.

Does it cost anything, or show ads?

No. The app is free, has no advertising, no subscription and no in-app purchases.

Still stuck

Write and say what happened, what phone and watch you are using, and what you expected instead. That is usually enough to find it.
